Just when you thought it was safe to be consider backing Rick Santorum, the candidate has gaffe that impresses even Vice President Biden. Candidate Santorum asserted that since, in his view, Mitt Romney and President Obama differ little then American may as well give the sitting Democratic president another four years in the White House!
…we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk of what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate for the future.
It’s not often you can actually hear an surging candidate’s balloon pop but if you watch the video of his gaffe you will detect he realized too late what he actually said and tried to move on quickly. POP! Goes the campaign!
In the coming weeks he will be back pedaling from this comment and attempting to spin it into something supportable. All I hear is air leaving his balloon.
Thanks for reading this far.

Some news outlets are reporting today that President Obama and British Prime Minister Cameron are attending a National Collegiate Athletic Association game between Western Kentucky and Mississippi Valley State at the University of Dayton sports arena (Western Kentucky won by one point) and suggesting he is demonstrating a cavalier attitude in doing so regarding both national and international matters that are pressing his administration.
To this assertion I say, it’s just nitpicking! You may not like our president or his politics but being petty about attending, for one evening, in a national seasonal event is just foolishness. You can expect all of the remaining Republican candidates will make commentary on this issue too, but again, it’s nitpicking, plain and simple.
Even in times of crisis far greater than what is at hand, other presidents have shown support for events like a basketball tournament game or a World Series, why try to make political ground on inconsequential details?
I say leave the president alone, it’s nice to have him support events that are important to the average citizen for a change.
In what can only be described as THE gaff of the political pre-season (meaning before the first real primary vote), Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney attempts to make his point by challenging Texas Governor and one time Republican presidential front runner Rick Perry to a $10,000 bet! I’m quite sure Vice-President Biden has a major man-crush on Romney after last evenings gaff. Saying the gaff was epic in proportion is perhaps understating the magnitude of the verbal fail.
At a time when millions of Americans are struggling to make ends meet, one of the wealthiest men in American throws down a bet that is more than many folks earn in six month, calling Perry out during the debate. Frustration doesn’t really excuse this one, it matters little now that Governor Perry had his facts wrong all along (says the Washington Post, New York Times and others) .
What’s that I hear? Is that the political career of Mitt Romney being flushed down the toilet?
This won’t be the final gaff from a man who has made a few others, but it will likely be the undoing of the most steady candidate in the crowd.
Pizza man, Herman Cain, has exited the 2012 Republican Primary race for President. In the past month of so his campaign has suffered from three accusations of sexual harassment and an alledged 13 year affair with another woman. The real failure for Cain was how he handled the initial circus around the past sexual harassment issues, he was weak and indecisive in his explanations. He never really regained controlled of the dialoged, then the alledged 13 year affair was served up.
The woman, Ginger White, for her part seemed genuine in her initial interview with Atlanta television station WAGA, saying it had come to her attention the affair was about to become public and she merely wanted to be in front of the media frenzy that was sure to take place. Had she remained silent after that, Cain’s chances of continuing were doomed. She made the mistake that nearly all self-involved underachieving media hounds make… she continued to talk to the press! The political season is in full swing or should I say in full FLOP mode, you can see the Republican hopefuls jockey for position. The early casualty was actually a pre-season elite candidate, Governor Tim Pawlenty. The former governor will now to wined and dined for his support next spring, and who is to say, there just might be a vice presidential ticket with his name on it if he chooses to remain fully engaged. He should ask himself, WWSD… What Would Sarah Do? I think it’s clear, buy a bus and try to remain in the public eye.
Look for his upcoming flops by endorsing a candidate he once tried to tear down.
Well, this is not only embarrassing but likely actionable, the prosecution team in the Casey Anthony trail introduced evidence that Anthony searched 84 times on the key word, chloroform, when they were fully aware the real search number was just one (1). In fact, it was further disclosed that whomever actually performed the search continued with other, non related searched in just three minutes.
Look for more legal action against the State of Florida. This poor case stinks like dog dew on the shoe!

US Ladies World Cup Soccer team choked three times in the final WC game. It’s sad, the girls led in regular time up to the last couple of minutes and then gave up an easy equalizing goal to the Japanese team. A team that the US has beaten twice this year already. In over time, the US team scored quickly and let Japan back in AGAIN at the end of overtime. After a really poor penalty phase by the US team (botched kicks by the US and at least two really poor goal defenses) the day was won by Japan.
This is not a good sign for President Obama’s reelection hopes, his administration was discussion locking FOX News out of interviews with the new “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg, back in 2009. When word of a possible lockout hit the press, all of the major news organizations rallied in support of FOX News. The Administration denied even the appearance of “evil” in this situation. Now, evidence has come forth in the way of White House e-mails that demonstrate a different story.
This President can’t seem to get out of his own way. Wouldn’t you like to be a fly on the walls of the White House for the next few days?
